Payments Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026. These terms are provided in English; translations are for convenience only.

1. Payment processor

All payments on Scoutr are processed by Stripe. Available payment methods — such as cards and local methods — are determined by Stripe based on your location and currency. Scoutr only offers methods supported through Stripe.

2. Contract currency

Every contract has one contract currency. Prices elsewhere may be shown in your language's currency for convenience; the amount charged is always the contract amount shown at checkout.

3. Funding milestones

Clients fund milestones through Stripe Checkout. A milestone is marked funded only after Scoutr verifies the payment with Stripe. Scoutr is not an escrow service.

4. Fees

Default fees: a 5% client platform fee and 0% freelancer commission. A freelancer may choose to cover the platform fee, in which case it is deducted from their release. Fees are always shown before payment.

5. Release

When the client approves a milestone, the funds are released to the freelancer's Scoutr balance. A milestone under dispute is paused until resolved.

6. Payouts

Freelancers can request payouts of released earnings. Payout availability and any provider costs depend on country and are shown before you confirm.

7. Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions ($29/month) are billed through Stripe and renew monthly until cancelled.

8. Chargebacks and fraud

Chargebacks are handled with Stripe. Fraudulent payments may lead to reversal of releases and account suspension.
